Cultural Expression:

Since 2002 IPÊTERRAS has carried out important work strengthening popular cultural expression in the region of Irecê. The NGO believes in the value and the importance of cultural traditions form the Sertão and aims to - through the support of artistic groups (music, poetry, singing, etc) and the organisation of cultural events (music festivals, etc) - revitalise the culture and offer space for artistic expression.

Part of the work developed is based on the recording and registering of these artists and events.
To accomplish all of the above, IPÊTERRAS works alongside various important partners. The Institute is part of the "Region of Irecê Network of Popular Culture" made up of the following organisations: GARRA (Support, Rural and Environmental Resistance Group), the STTR (Rural Workers Union) of Barro Alto, the Culturart Foundation and the APLB Trade union.
